Feast of the Local Fishes

Feast of the Local Fishes

Sunday, February 16, 2-6pm — Garibaldi, OR

Join us for a seaworthy afternoon at the Oregon Coast celebrating the many riches our winter waters have to offer. Tournant and Shifting Tides NW are joining forces to share an afternoon of learning and feasting on local seafood, seaweed and Dungeness crab at one of the most picturesque venues on the coast - the Historic US Coast Guard Boat House in Garibaldi, OR.

Our venue is the Historic US Coastguard Boathouse, located at the end of a 700ft pier over the Tillamook Bay. Guests will test their hand at crabbing from the private Boathouse docks, in between enjoying bites from the beloved Mona and Jaret of Tournant. Wines from Cooper Mountain Vineyards and mocktails made with Dappled Tonic Water will be included with ticket price.

5% of proceeds will benefit the Garibaldi Cultural Heritage Initiative, whose mission is to preserve and restore this historic boathouse. We invite you to learn more about the fine work they do.

About Us

Winter Waters is an Oregon-born initiative dedicated to promoting seaweed as a superfood culinary ingredient and enhancing local Oregon coast food systems. Our mission is to bridge the gap between consumers and sustainable seafood sources through education and shared meals.

Each February, Winter Waters collaborates with chefs and tastemakers to celebrate sustainable seafood, with an emphasis on seaweed. The state of Oregon boasts some of the most sustainable fisheries in the world, yet much of the seafood produced is exported, and a significant portion of consumed seafood is imported (about 90%!). There is a disconnect between the people and the process and we’d like to help bridge this gap through education and delicious culinary experiences.
