RECAP: PNW Dinner Savvy Food Co. x Lovely Rita
February 23rd, 6-9pm — Lovely Rita, Portland, OR
Chef Ian Grant of Savvy Food Co and Chef U’ilaniku’ulei Vele of The Hoxton, took over the Lovely Rita kitchen for a night of ocean delicacies with a focus on seaweed and local sustainable seafood.
This 5-course dinner showcased the abundance of the Oregon coast and creative techniques, cultural heritage and expertise of these chefs. We were simply blown away.

Cured Scallop, with blood orange shiso granita, salsa macha sea lettuce
Tako Poke octopus, with ogo & limu seaweeds, hawaiian chili pepper vinaigrette, toasted macadamia nut
Oregon Tataki Albacore, with li hing mui dulse passionfruit coconut milk
Kombu Cured Rockfish, with yuzu beurre blanc salmon roe, maple gochujang glaze
Smoked Flank Steak, with hakurei turnips oregon black truffle dulse miso butter crispy shallots
Soy Sauce Ice Cream, with black sesame dulse tuile wakame caramel hazelnut
The bar team also created a special dulse seaweed infused old fashioned - and it was incredible! This was a magical night in a gorgeous venue.
