RECAP: Seafood Trivia at Flying Fish

What a FUN and interactive evening! We had no idea people would be this excited about trivia, but once these free tickets sold out in an hour and had 50+ people on a waitlist, we realized we needed more of these casual educational events!

Flying Fish was pretty much the perfect Portland venue for this. With a focus on regional sustainable seafood, and very knowledgeable staff !!

Trivia topics ranged from ocean facts, fisheries statistics, oceanography, marine science, and conservation, and all questions started conversations and education deeper than we could have imagined. Contestants reflected that some of these questions were hard, which told us most folks don’t know very much about our local fishing industry. This was such a fun way to educate seafood consumers.

Seaweed-y menu specials were prepared by Chef Erik, including a seared scallop with a delicious and vibrant seaweed salad. Winners of trivia got to choose from rad seaweed food prizes donated from Barnacle Foods, Daybreak Seaweed, Tiny Fish Co, and Oregon Seaweed.
